Our Kitchen is the heartbeat of The Shed. We are a scratch kitchen with a deep passion for everything we create, attending to the details of preparation and presentation are essential. Working in our kitchen is always fast paced and so our culinary team is too, we count on their alertness and accuracy every single day.


Our culinary team develops skills in the kitchen and cross-trains to work more than one station. They become a master of all domains, have many opportunities to advance and contribute significantly to the success of the entire Shed Team!


The Shed Restaurant - Eat Well. Drink. #InTheShed American / Comfort Food dining for Brunch, Lunch & Dinner.


2-3+ years experience minimum required for this leadership position.

Breakfast & Lunch experience a huge plus!

Vacation + Benefits + Paid Sick Time + 2 Days off Per Week


Job Description:

  • KITCHEN MANAGER: 2-3+ years experience minimum required.

  • Full Time only. Must be able to work days & nights (2 days off per week)

  • Assist with all responsibilities as designated by the Executive Chef

  • Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance

  • Oversee / help to set up stations & all supplies to prepare for service in advance of opening

  • Ensure preparation of all foods by the team are up to The Shed standards learned during training.

  • Oversee and guide team in preparing a variety of foods, sauces, meats, seafood, and produce as assigned by Executive Chef

  • Manage inventory levels and ordering to meet demand while minimizing waste

  • Oversee staff & scheduling, alert Executive Chef in advance of any possible staffing changes.

  • Ensure kitchen equipment is used in accordance with safety standards & instructions.

  • Open & close down the kitchen according to The Shed closing guidelines & Health Dept. standards

  • Oversee and ensure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately while consistently using safe and hygienic food handling practices


Our Kitchen Managers Must Have:

  • The ability to work together with and lead our hard working team.

  • Proven experience in food preparation, casual - fine dining

  • The ability to maintain a supremely clean work environment maintaining high standards of workplace sanitation. Ensure the teams maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times.

  • Strong familiarity with all major food prep techniques (Breakfast / Brunch experienced a huge plus)

  • Ability to stay composed under pressure and maintain a calm work environment.

  • Must be able to work full shift standing on feet.

  • Ability to carry 15+ lbs is necessary.

  • Must be able to work Days & Evenings (with two days off per week)
